Crochet Headband with Flower

I'll just start by saying I haven't crocheted in YEARS!

My daughter wanted one of those awesome headbands that covers your ears and has a flower on it. I searched and searched the internet and finally found a pattern today. Weeks of looking for a pattern and BOOM! I've already knocked the first one out. I say "first" because now there is apparently a list of colors and friends to keep me busy doing a "hobby" that I never really considered a "hobby". Fun, right?

I went with a color combo that's been out of style for almost a decade...don't judge me. I guess I really liked it when our color choosing designers decided that orange was the new pink. Plus, she wanted a pink band but was wearing an orange shirt.

Anyway, I am going to share the link to this free pattern with you...now you don't have to spend weeks searching. This one is great because it tapers at the neck and the double-stitch allows space for a button to go through if you want to add one...which of course I did.

*I did have to adjust the length of the pattern a little to fit a child.

So now that I have a new hobby I would love your advice. Share your favorite links, sites and patterns with me...it's a crocheting party!!

  4. Very cute! I'll have to keep that pattern in mind for after I finish my huge stack of projects I already have planned (such is life). Enjoy your new "hobby." Crochet is fun because you can just keep your hands busy while paying attention to something else. For me, that's usually watching TV with my hubby. I know the Lion Brand website has a bunch of free patterns. You just have to give them your e-mail to become a member.
